Why
We know the importance of making space for people to bring their own agency and creativity to bear on their experiences.
How
We draw on a range of creative practices to provide the tools for people to step inside a topic and explore. It’s about putting a transformational moment within reach, not making it for them.
Our story
HoCC was founded in 2016 by Sophie Shaw after a decade of working in museums and theatre. During this time she refined her skills in curation, visitor experience design, learning, education, participation and co-creation. The House of Cultural Curiosity was built to house experiments in how these different practices might weave together into an innovative creative approach, engaging audiences with ideas in powerful ways.
